Okay, can I blog without a niche and still be successful, even if it is 2025?

You know when I was starting my blogging journey I was fed up with niche IMPORTANCE, now I know that it was the worst decision that I could make for myself and my journey to blogging and digital marketing.

Can I blog without a niche? Yes, you can, and I will tell you exactly why. And without saying, you can also be dam successful if you know what to do.( my true story )

Okay, a little backstory about me and who I am.

My name is Sintija and I moved to Ireland in 2019 with my family. My partner started work, son went to school, but because of the school and the fact that we lived in the countryside, someone needed to drive and pick up from school my son. And I was this person.

Staying home wasn’t my thing, but we also weren’t so desperate to earn more. Because it was enough and my love didn’t want me to work at night.

That’s why I was there. Going nuts at home.

I didn’t know what was – digital marketing, making money online or creating an online store. I was a total beginner at that point.

But I just did start…

4 years I failed. Nothing that I started lasted long enough to see any results.

I was so fed up in niching down which EXACTLY WAS MY BIGGEST PROBLEM WHY I WASN’T MAKING IT and for so time I did ask myself this question : Can I blog without a niche?

What did not I try. Blogging, personal brand, selling social media templates, streaming, trading, investing, NFTs.

It all failed. With big F…

There is no problem with niching down if you are confident in your ability to be consistent and write and create videos about only that one topic.

BUT IT WASN’T FOR ME…

And after failing multiple times, I understood that.

My exact problem was in that fact that I wanted to niche down; that’s why I understand why you are asking <<Can you blog without a niche?>>

And sure, Can I blog without a niche? Because I know that many are asking this question to themselves.

YOU BECOME A NICHE… It sounds silly, but it is true.

You start writing about your personal life experience, and your journey, and start sharing your journey on Youtube and TikTok. People start to see you, and it all begins.

A personal blog can bring you so far and grant you with opportunities that you never imagined; however, not all want to share their beliefs, lives or journeys.

But a blog without a niche doesn’t always mean that you need to write about your journey or life, if you like fitness, art or pets, you can write, create videos and just show your interest in things that are important to you.

NICHE DOWN CAN BE HARMFUL?

Why niching down can be harmful to your online journey, blog, business or brand?

I had a bad experience with choosing a niche and you can read about my personal story on how it all went wrong. But if you ask: Can I blog without a niche? Then aswer is YES.

See niche…

It can bring stress and if you are not in a position to be patient and write only about one niche then you should change something because the main point of starting something new is to be consistent with articles, blog posts, or videos.

And just have fun in doing what you love.

Mostly what happens is that:

It becomes too boring to write about 1 niche
You can’t keep up to the blog posts and video ideas for your content
Start showing questions: Is it worth going further? Will I be successful?
Can I do this for a long period?

How to know that niching down isn’t for you?

After failing 4 years in a row, with big mistakes and wasted time, I understood that niching down wasn’t for me. Like what else could I do wrong?

I can’t really remember the exact moment when I understood that niching down wasn’t for me, but it just came, because I wanted so badly to have my own blog and start an online business I just din’t knew what exactly I wanted.

But in one moment, I just was thinking: Can I blog without a niche? I already tried so many things why not just combine everything together? And create beautiful place for all my journey.

Can you blog without a niche and be successful?

Yes, you can and with the right method, you can also be successful, and make money online.

Believe me, I did ask the same question all the time: Can I blog without a niche? but what I know is that if you will not try then you will never know…

What I mean by it, is that no matter if you have a personal blog you need to do your keyword research, add authentic images about your journey and yourself, improve your website look and social media posts, and test things that work and don’t.

You will still need to do work and be very patient if you want to make money and grow your blog with an opportunity to create your personal brand, social media following, store or even just get applied to ad revenue, but no matter what you do if you don’t give up and just take time everything will be okay.

How long does it take to be successful and earn money from a blog if you don’t have a niche?

For a long time, I would say that you need to have a niche.

NOW…

NO.

I had my fear share on experiencing niching down and yes it didn’t work. And of course I also didn’t make any money or progress.

This is a harsh truth…

If you can’t be consistent and happy with what you do, then there is no point in having a niche in the first place.

Now, I understand that.

BUT… even if you have just a personal blog, you start writing articles, doing keyword research, and showing up each day, and eventually, you will get where you want.

You will make that brand

For sure you will make that money

And you will create that community

Everything that you desire will be made by YOU

How long it can take, for you to be successful?

Tough question, it depends on how much work you invest and what is your end goal. For one person it can be a few months to see results for others years. It all goes down to your weekly input.

What is your progress? Are you improving? Are you testing? Are you engaging with your followers? Are you doing keyword research, following trends and improving your social media posts?

How much you do each week to be consistent and how much you add content. These small thinks are SO IMPORTANT when it comes to just growing as person and as small business, no matter what you want just blog, online store, small business or anything else.

Just Be You.

Don’t rush, be yourself, stay consistent, and do keyword research. Show yourself to others and you will see that with time you grow bigger and bigger.

Now when you know that you can have a blog without a niche, WHAT NEXT…

What I want you to understand is that you need to be consistent, no matter what. That is the only thing you need.

And here let me explain myself. If you read one of my articles about how I failed 4 years in a row in << EVERYTHING THAT I WAS DOING >> you will quickly understand that what I didn’t have in all of my journeys was CONSISTENCE of just pushing myself and having a schedule that would be realistic with my daily life.

Of course, my problem was also niching down but now we will not look into it.

Let’s here go step by step on how you can start your blog without a niche.

The first step is just to get an idea of what you want to create – here don’t think about the niche, just imagine your vision of how it looks and what you think you have on your blog or YouTube channel.

THING OF…

What you will write about?
How your logo will look. Simple, luxuries, with flowers or coloured?
What website design do you have or any small detail that stands out in your vision – about how it could look? (If you don’t have any idea then go to Pinterest, Google or Etsy to see website designs that you like, take your time)
What colours do you want?
What your website name will be, will you use your personal name or you will name it as your dream goal like: mybestmoments.com / dreamself.com / beconfident.com. (just examples)
Will you make social media accounts? Will you make videos and add them to your articles
How you will promote your posts, will you share them on social media or you will create amazing pins that you will post?
What will be your story – your blog story? For what purpose you are creating it?

When your vision is clear, get paper and pen and start writing down every small detail about your blog. What you want it to be, how you want it to look and more.

Pinterest, Google, Etsy and YouTube are amazing places where you can look for inspiration on what you want.

BE CLEAR ON YOUR GOAL…

Now. When you know what you want and how it will look. THE NEXT BIG STEP IS TO BE SELF HOSTED.

What does it mean? You need a website on a self-hosted platform such as Bluehost, Lyrical Host or Godaddy. A platform where you will publish your blog posts, and videos or just share all your daily activities. With your own .com.

For beginners, the Bluehost is enough to just start. The cheapest plan starts at just 2.45 a month with a professional email, SSL licence and domain name, that you can choose on your own. From my perspective, it is a win-win. As you don’t know how it will go and how long it will take you to get traffic to your posts.

Now you just need to start- get website design, create your pages and publish your first blog post.
